The Ayalaan film has been in the Production works for the past 3 years and will be released today. It stars Sivakarthikeyan, Rahul Preet Singh, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran and others. AR Rahman composed the music for this film. Based on the Alien concept, the film is made to appeal to children.
Although Tamil cinema has reached the next level commercially, it only crosses a few circles in content, like Ravikumar, who was successful in his first film, Time Machine. Let’s see if he succeeds in taking the alien genre into his own hands this time.
Storyline
At the very beginning of the film, a stone from another planet falls to earth, and the villain(Sharad Kelkar) gets hold of it. He tries to dig holes in the earth by mining and trying to find some profits, but then many people die from the toxic gas released from there.
Knowing this, the creature (alien) living on the planet where the stone came from is essential to earth, and to send an alien to save it, the alien takes refuge in Sivakarthikeyan, who does not even think of betraying a pest.
Then, when that project came to Chennai, the rest of the story was about whether Sivakarthikeyan and that alien saved Chennai together.
Character Spotlight: Actors and Roles
We have seen many Hollywood films that aliens will destroy the world if they come here, but the fact that our world is going to be saved by aliens makes us sit up a bit. Sivakarthikeyan is the favorite hero of children today, and that is why he has given a film that children will celebrate.
Ravikumar registers that this world belongs to everyone, from capturing a baby elephant in the first scene to an ant connecting Sivakarthikeyan and Alien at the end. If only Sivakarthikeyan were there, there would be no shortage of comedy, in which the Yogi Babu and Karunakaran team has a good reach for a one-line counter. This Pongal party is like a loot with aliens playing with them.
Moreover, the CG work of the film has been done with quality in this budget. The Grasshopper destroying the field and Robert’s fight scene are excellent in all the scenes. But we can’t avoid the fact that this template story has been seen in many Hollywood films, which is one of the reasons why we haven’t handled this genre for so many years.
The second half of the film, especially the climax, could have been more intense, and the alien’s farewell is emotional only on the screen, not with the audience. The corporate villain is a little dull in this movie, and as usual, a face that is very foreign to us; whenever they cast a face, we know it as the corporate villain.
Nirav Shah’s cinematography is excellent, and although A.R Rahman‘s songs are a disappointment, he has added strength to the film as much as possible in the background music. The first thing that comes to our mind when we think of Alien is Spielberg’s E.T., and it is interesting that Ravikumar referred to the film’s trademark shot, Nila Shot, in Ayalaan.
