With restaurants closing, around 65% of Americans report cooking more often at home as a practical necessity, if for no other reason.
Cooking at home is healthier, though. People who routinely cook meals at home eat healthier and eat fewer calories than those who cook a few days at home, corresponding to researchers of a study.
In fact, 43% of Americans report they’re following a particular diet in 2020. That’s up from 38% in 2019 and 36% in 2018. Periodic fasting has taken the top place as the most frequent diet followed.
