Storyline
Vetri (Santhanam) is an employee at a matrimonial information center. He is burdened with a debt of Rs 25 lakhs after buying his own apartment. With no financial support, Vetri is on the lookout for a bride who can bring a dowry of Rs 25 lakhs to settle his debts.
His search leads him to Vijaykumar (Thambi Ramaiah), a landlord from Ratnapuri. Vijaykumar marries off his daughter Dhenmozhi (Priyalaya) to Vetri. But after the marriage, Vetri realizes that the spouse’s family is already in debt.
The situation spirals into chaos as Vijaykumar, along with his son Bala (Bala Saravanan), move into Vetri’s home. The film humorously portrays how Vetri, now living with his debt-ridden father-in-law, navigates through this predicament. Using the same family that aggravated his issues, Vetri devises smart plans to tackle the problems.
Director Anand Narayan incorporates a narrative that balances the complexities of family dynamics and financial woes with a generous dose of humor, creating an entertaining comedy storyline.
Performances And Characters
Santhanam shines in his role as Vetri, giving a performance that balances action, comedy, love, and dance. His portrayal is both cool and compelling. He is making full use of his comedy timing and on-screen presence.
The heroine (Priyalaya) acts her role fine, supporting the storyline without overacting. Thambi Ramaiah’s depiction of the innocent yet mischievous adds enjoyable humor, even if it sometimes touches on over-the-top comedy.
Vivek Prasanna’s role swings between terror and comedy, especially in his acts scenes as a ‘corpse’ is outstanding.’ Bala Saravanan, Muneeskanth, Seshu, Cool Suresh, Maran, Swaminathan, part of the ‘Santanam Comedy Universe,’ contribute significantly to the film’s humor.
